About The Position

Prism Plastics, Inc., a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings (backed by Berkshire Hathaway), is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Technician. This role is crucial for managing the flow of materials, encompassing tasks from receiving raw materials and tools to preparing and shipping finished goods. The technician will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy using IQMS and IQRF systems, maintaining warehouse organization, and performing routine equipment maintenance. Requirements

  • 3 years' of applicable work experience.
  • Experience with computer and/or computer related systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Unload Raw Materials and Tools.
  • Check contents before unloading, noting the variances, or issues with the freight before unloading on the bill of lading.
  • Take digital pictures where applicable to note damage for claims.
  • Remove packing slips and certification (when applicable) upon receipt and receive into IQMS systems.
  • Notify purchasing if line item is not open to receive against, for resolution.
  • Inspect raw materials for each material in accordance with the control plan.
  • Forward all receiving documents and certifications to the proper personnel.
  • Put away received materials on or underneath the rack.
  • Assure torn bags or boxes are repaired to prevent leakage into other stored materials.
  • Assure Gaylord lids are in place or plastic covers are in place if cardboard covers are not present.
  • Police the area to assure manufacturing personnel keep the area clean and organized as material is pulled and replaced in warehouse.
  • Load Finished Materials or Tools when shipped, during working hours.
  • Assure Manufacturing Personnel have clearly defined instructions on the carriers picking each specific shipment when after hours shipping is required.
  • Create pick ticket after releases and sales orders have been updated with “pull” information of that specific date.
  • Manage Inventory through the use of IQRF (scanning software and hardware) and discreet warehouse locations.
  • Prepare shipments, pulling materials based on lowest lot number, for FIFO (first in first out) rotation of inventory.
  • Assure accuracy in pulling the shipment.
  • Complete verification of shipment by a second party if the RF scanning is down.
  • Call Freight Company for pickup time.
  • Prepare Shipment, including, but not limited to: Stretch wrapping of Pallets, Pallet Labels, Packing Slip Pouch, Invoice Pouch (for international Shipments), Ship-To Labels, Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Send Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN’s) to customer, as required, via their specific instructions/system.
  • Run FedEx / Package Shipments to Depot or call in pick-ups for facility.
  • Keep the Customer Shipping Reference Sheet updated as the customers systems change.
  • Put away finished materials on or underneath the rack.
  • Assure torn boxes are inspected for damage, scrapped or repaired before shipment in the event of damage to the exterior of a carton.
  • Police the area to assure manufacturing personnel keep the area clean and organized as material is pulled and placed in warehouse.
  • Perform Weekly Fork Lift Maintenance: Check Water Levels to assure cells are full.
  • Perform Weekly Fork Lift Maintenance: Check Parking Break Operation.
  • Perform Weekly Fork Lift Maintenance: Grease Forks, as required, for smooth operation and adjustment.
  • Perform Weekly Fork Lift Maintenance: Assure Weekend Shift allows the unit to charge for a full eight hours.
