Scope of Position The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees and coordinates all activities related to incoming supplier shipments, consigned shipments, and shipment preparation. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of goods, supervises and trains material handling staff across three shifts, and maintains efficient departmental operations in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience in a manufacturing shipping & receiving department, including at least three (3) years in a lead/Supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop a team effectively across multiple shifts.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and supervisory skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to champion change, adapt to dynamic situations, and lead initiatives that improve operational efficiency.
  • Understanding of business impact and ability to prioritize actions to meet organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Train, mentor, and supervise Material Handlers across three shifts, with support from off-shift supervisors.
  • Plan and organize daily and long-term departmental operations, optimizing personnel and resources.
  • Expedite shipments and establish delivery schedules, ensuring all vendor trucks are loaded/unloaded accurately and on time.
  • Maintain trucking schedules and coordinate dock traffic to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Act as liaison with vendors, production, sales, and customer service to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Examine shipments, verify accuracy with invoices/orders, and complete all required documentation (work orders, ASN, BOLs, shipping orders, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949, EMS, Health & Safety, OSHA, and company policies.
  • Complete weekly audits of dock areas, RMA returns, inventory adjustments, and resolve shipment or invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and coordinate box truck shipments within a 120-mile radius.
  • Fill in on fork truck operations when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
