About The Position

This occupation requires the knowledge and skills needed to supervise a shipping and receiving department. Perform the day-to-day operation of supervising the shipping and receiving department (S/R). Be able to interface with employees, management, and customers.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, ADP, Job Boss.
  • Three years’ minimum experience in a shipping and receiving environment in manufacturing.
  • Good oral, written and organizational skills.
  • Requires moderate physical exertion, including lifting, bending and time standing.
  • Certifiable to operate an industrial lift truck.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise S/R operations.
  • Interact with other Supervisors and Lead man.
  • Follow direction of Manufacturing Leadership to meet daily production schedules and report status.
  • Work as a team with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish objectives and meet customer requirements of quality, service, and performance expectations.
  • Assure safe working environment.
  • Comply with all EH&S rules and regulations and actively participate in Safety Meetings.
  • Support and communicate information timely between company and employees.
  • Implement company policy.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and sustain 6s in the work environment.
  • Identify and eliminate waste.
  • Prepare yearly performance reviews and disciplinary actions while taking steps required to help employees improve/develop.
  • Recommend promotion of qualified and skilled workers.
  • Train, cross-train and maintain proficiency records of employees.
  • Oversee use of company phones and credit cards allocated to S/R.
  • Review, counsel, evaluate, and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Identify and recommend proper staffing levels based on production needs.
  • Schedule and control overtime.
  • Maintain employee records and ADP time punches.
  • Review workmanship and handle related problems.
  • Assure proper maintenance of equipment and trucks.
  • Ensure necessary packing supplies and tools are provided.
  • Maintain inventory control and accuracy.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Oversee the securing of loads on delivery trucks.
  • Oversee proper packaging for parts being delivered via common carrier, UPS, FedEx.
