Shipping/Receiving Specialist
About The Position
We are seeking a full-time experience Shipping/Receiving Specialist to join our Syracuse Parts Dept team by supporting internal and external customers/employees. Thompson & Johnson Equipment is a growing third-generation family-owned business that services customers in Upstate NY with locations in Syracuse, Schenectady, Binghamton and Horseheads. We are the authorized dealer for the #1 and #2 forklift lines in the industry. The culture we embody is loyalty, friendliness, teamwork and FUN! This position will receive incoming inventory and prepare orders for efficient loading, unloading, and departure of trucks. Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing inventory while supporting internal and external customers. Inspect shipments for damages, operate forklift/pallet jack, tire pressing machine, including pressing tires, label and tag materials for special order or inventory, pick up and deliver parts to customers and mechanics as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Must have the ability to perform strenuous and heavy work; exert force up to 150 pounds on occasion and frequently handle up to 50 pounds. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pulling, lifting, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Prior shipping/receiving experience is preferred
- Knowledge of AS400, Tinnacity and UPS software is desirable
