About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist will be responsible for shipping and receiving activities, monitoring and tracking shipments, maintaining and communicating the shipping/receiving corporate policy, and assisting in some facilities related activities.

Requirements

Associate’s degree and 4-6 years of shipping and receiving experience preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
Proactive in identifying issues and takes the initiative to identify solutions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technologically savvy and able to learn new software quickly.
Intermediate-to-Advanced Excel skills.
Highly motivated with a desire to grow with the company.

Responsibilities

Receive & Inspect: Receive, inspect, and sign for all incoming packages and freight from carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, specialty couriers).
Specialized Handling: Manage the receipt of specialized materials common to a biotech environment, including temperature-sensitive (cold-chain), hazardous, and regulated items, following all established SOPs and safety protocols.
System Entry: Promptly and accurately log all received items into the company’s inventory management or ERP system.
Internal Distribution: Sort and deliver packages and mail to the appropriate internal recipients, departments, and stockroom locations in a timely manner.
Cycle Counts: Perform regular cycle counts and assist with periodic full physical inventory audits to ensure system accuracy.
Monitoring: Monitor stock levels of critical supplies and communicate re-order needs to the procurement team or appropriate department heads.
Outbound Prep: Prepare, package, and label outbound shipments, ensuring all items are secure and compliant.
Documentation: Complete and verify all necessary shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments, including customs forms if needed.
