About The Position

This position is for a Shipping & Receiving/Labourer responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance within an industrial manufacturing environment. Key duties include operating various machines and equipment independently to produce parts according to required tolerances, reading customer specifications, and managing production and inventory through company systems. The role also involves critical shipping and receiving functions such as verifying daily drum schedules, ensuring correct use of shipping materials, loading drums into trailers, and maintaining clean and safe dock areas. Additionally, the individual will be involved in troubleshooting mechanical issues with other team members, performing minor maintenance, tracking downtime, and adhering to all plant safety rules and quality procedures, including ISO 9001 compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in industrial manufacturing
  • Hazardous Material Handling
  • Offer highest level of innovation and problem solving skills to influence overall efficiency, improvements in productivity, outcomes, etc.
  • Use verbal skills to transfer information to operators, maintenance, and management
  • Complete reports such as production, quality, and inventory legibly
  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios math skills
  • Internal manufacturing systems computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand, kneel/stoop, and walk for the duration of the shift
  • Requires good hand/eye/foot coordination
  • Vision: 20/20 corrected
  • Normal hearing range
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment – cold in winter months and hot in the summer months

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Plant Safety Rules and Regulations
  • Utilize proper PPE at all times
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous material safely and per policy as outlined by all relevant regulations
  • Produce continuous quality parts and ensure all quality procedures are followed
  • Comply with ISO 9001
  • Complete Manufacturing/Quality documents
  • Communicate with internally concerning deviations or general request
  • Assist in 6s and lean manufacturing practices
  • Verify compliance to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Complete reports as necessary internally/externally
  • Independently operate machines, equipment, and produce production parts to required tolerances
  • Read and comprehend customer specification sheets
  • Anticipate the next order and stage supplies/products as needed
  • Utilize Company systems for reporting production, scrap, inventory, etc.
  • Follow direction and product required quantities
  • Verify drums are completed to daily schedule requirements at an acceptable level of quality
  • Ensure all shipping materials are used correctly
  • Ensure drums are loaded correctly in appropriate trailer
  • Arrange dock areas to be clean, tidy, and safe
  • Sort and rearrange rejected drums into designated area
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues with other operators, maintenance, and management
  • Maintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
  • Carry out minor maintenance overhauls and parts changes, including designated preventative maintenance
  • Track issues with downtime and/or equipment
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Perform all other duties as required or requested
