About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk at Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of equipment, materials, and supplies in a warehouse setting. This role involves utilizing automated systems for inventory management, ensuring accuracy in shipments, and maintaining stock records. The clerk will also operate warehouse equipment and perform heavy lifting as required, contributing to the overall efficiency of the shipping and receiving operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50lbs without assistance.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Three years or more of previous warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of HazMat regulations.
• Willingness to operate on a no notice recall for 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes automated systems such as Maximo and NGB web for processing shipments.
• Assists in inventory management and discrepancy resolution using various programs.
• Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Compares incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against records.
• Counts and sorts incoming articles to verify receipt of items.
• Determines method of shipment based on knowledge of procedures and routes.
• Examines stock for conformance to specifications.
• Stores articles according to identifying information.
• Follows procedures for safeguarding and handling items.
• Interprets MIL-specs for proper packing and directs packing as needed.
• Performs scheduled or special inventories and maintains logs and records.
• Fills orders and issues supplies from stock.
• Operates hand or power trucks, forklifts, and vehicles as required.
• Prepares and certifies cargo for shipment by military and civilian aircraft.
• Maintains housekeeping in the assigned area.
