About The Position

The Shipping Clerk will take ownership of all aspects of shipping and receiving function for a HDPE extruded plastics products factory. This includes safety, quality, receiving, shipping, inventory, keeping records and provide reports. The candidate must have hands-on technical background in a high-volume manufacturing environment with shipping and distribution experience. ISO 9000 and Automotive supplier experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet safety, quality and production requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering discipline preferred
  • ISO 9000 and Automotive supplier experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
  • Inspect in-coming materials and report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping.
  • Enter shipping and receiving data into JD Edwards inventory system to create Bill of Ladings.
  • Assemble orders and prepare material for shipment.
  • Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.
  • Determine method, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.
  • Coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.
  • Interact with freight carriers to ensure on time deliveries to customers.
  • May be responsible for the cleanliness of trucks and work area.
  • Load trucks and secure product in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Load and unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
  • Monitor material usage on work floor and supply production lines with raw materials.
  • Weigh materials or products and record results on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Keep production lines supplied with raw materials.
  • Inventory product as needed.
  • And label, sort, wrap and tie product.
  • Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Tap rail cars and coordinate with railroad on their movements.
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
