About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, maintaining inventory records, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role requires attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is located in Opelika, AL.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills (ERP/WMS systems experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Basic computer skills (ERP/WMS systems experience preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Unload trucks and ensure materials are stored in designated locations
  • Record received goods into inventory management systems
  • Identify and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items
  • Maintain accurate receiving documentation
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements
  • Verify orders for accuracy before shipment
  • Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (BOLs, invoices, etc.)
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and deliveries
  • Ensure shipments meet deadlines and customer requirements
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Maintain organized and clean warehouse space
  • Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (if certified)
  • Follow safety policies and procedures
  • Support other warehouse or operational tasks as needed
