We currently have an opening for a Shipping & Warehouse Specialist, for our Industrial Measurement Solutions Business Unit (IMS). This individual is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of materials through shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations while maintaining inventory integrity and compliance with company processes. This position is based in Houston TX, reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain with a focus on managing all aspects of warehouse organization, inventory control, and Shipping/Receiving activities to support all functions in the organization that require anything to pass through the Shipping/Receive Area. This is a Supply Chain department position that will collaborate with Production, Service, Sales, Marketing, and other departments/people. This role plays a critical part in driving our vision to partner with our customers to become their preferred process analytical solutions provider. Successful candidates will be organized, reliable, and collaborative. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in logistics, supply chain, or operations preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management practices, inventory control, and supply chain workflows.
  • ERP system experience required; proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory tracking tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints, BOMs, and related manufacturing documentation – primarily targeting at being able to understand the contents of incoming/outgoing packages.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills; capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction at all levels.
  • Fiscal awareness with attention to cost, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Hands-on approach with ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds and actively manage warehouse and shipping tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of typical shipping online systems (e.g. FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) preferred.
  • Understanding of basic freight forwarding practices and related import/export requirements (e.g. Proforma Invoices, Customs Clearance, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 standards preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required.
  • Dangerous Goods shipping certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shipping (domestic and international) and receiving operations, preparing bills of lading, packing slips, and customs documentation in accordance with customer specifications and shipping regulations.
  • Resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory issues, including carrier tracking and ERP system updates.
  • Support warehouse operations, including organization, storage, movement, and accuracy of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Conduct inventory management activities, such as physical parts counts, under the guidance and support of other internal team members.
  • Coordinate material flow between departments and locations to optimize processes and minimize delays. This may include activities such as delivering parts, kitting parts, storing NCM (Non-conforming Material), etc.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following safety protocols, identifying hazards, and fostering a culture of safety in the warehouse and shipping areas.
  • Utilize ERP system tools effectively and support adoption of improved business processes.
  • Apply PI values to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Apply equal amounts of skills and dedication to all other duties as assigned.
