About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods in a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with food safety, quality, and safety standards.

Requirements

Prior shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or food environment preferred
Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or ERP systems
Ability to read shipping documents, lot codes, and labels accurately
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in warehouse conditions, including varying temperatures

Responsibilities

Receive incoming raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and supplies
Verify shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips
Inspect deliveries for damage, accuracy, and basic quality requirements
Properly label, document, and store received materials following FIFO/FEFO procedures
Prepare finished goods for shipment, including picking, staging, and labeling orders
Verify product counts, lot numbers, and expiration dates prior to shipment
Complete shipping documentation accurately (BOLs, packing lists, carrier paperwork)
Maintain accurate inventory records in the company’s inventory or ERP system
Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventories
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and HACCP requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary warehouse environment
Operate forklifts or pallet jacks safely (certification as required)
Comply with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and PPE standards
Report safety hazards, product damage, or food safety concerns immediately
