Shipping and Receiving Clerks are responsible for ensuring that all shipping documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. Shipping and Receiving Clerks also communicates with customers to coordinate outbound freight schedules, maintains accurate record of all received product, and assists in resolving inventory discrepancies.Essential Functions: Effectively communicate with Quality Dept, to ensure that all parts shipping are properly identified and shop orders are matched to corresponding parts Maintain traceability on all parts, including those with special identification Part Mark parts as required by blueprints and or picture identification books. Apply clear coat over part marking identification as required Communicate with Quality Dept that all finished parts are ready for final inspection Properly wrap and pack parts to ensure that no damage will occur during shipping. Using foam end protectors, paper, bubble wrap, foam, cardboard dividers, poly tubing, desiccant, etc. Contact carrier representative to make arrangements for pickups for outgoing shipments Fill out bill of ladings, (electronic or hard-copy) Create and receive purchase orders for outside vendors Record and enter into VISUAL shipment data, such as tracking number, weight, part quantity, shipping carton quantity, carrier; submit to supervisor for data entry Locate all finished and detail parts in warehouse location and properly record warehouse location and traceability Safely and efficiently operates forklift May operate motor vehicle to obtain or deliver parts and supplies needed Performs other tasks and/or assignments as required Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required Qualifications and Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalent, preferred. One year of relevant experience, preferred. Other Required Skills and Abilities: Valid Driver's license and acceptable safe driving record to meet insurance requirements Forklift experience is preferred; forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained throughout employment Ability to read and accurately interpret pick tickets, bills of lading, and similar inventory documents Attention to detail and demonstration of accurate counting, measurement, and associated recordkeeping Professional written and verbal communication skills (English) Consistently legible handwriting (English) Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word ERP experience is preferred Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentTo perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations: Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 60 pounds Frequently bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel Accurately distinguish colors, letters, and numbers Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices Use hands and fingers to manually inspect and assess, lift, rotate, and wrap or otherwise package parts Working Conditions Work is performed in a manufacturing warehouse environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to: Moderate Noise Excessive noise, hearing protection required (occasionally) Dust, smoke, fumes/vapors (occasionally) Extreme temperatures (occasionally) Sharp instruments including box cutters, scissors, and other tools used in packaging/shipping The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear may be required
