About The Position

Position Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating and processing all inbound and outbound shipments. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment, proper packaging, shipment scheduling, and verification of incoming materials. The position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely delivery to customers while supporting overall warehouse operations.

• Handle discrepancies or shipping problems calmly and politely
• Exhibits familiarity with shipping and billing procedures
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Pick and assemble customer orders while verifying accuracy against pick sheets and packing slips.
• Package orders using appropriate packing materials to ensure safe and secure delivery.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments from trucks.
• Receive incoming materials and verify items against packing lists before entering them into the system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Determine the most efficient method of shipment using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and freight rates.
• Ensure proper inventory rotation following FIFO (First In, First Out) practices.
• Assist with storing finished goods in the warehouse and pulling materials as needed.
• Support cycle counts and assists with auditing inbound and outbound shipments to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Communicate with customers and distributors to resolve shipping or delivery issues.
• Respond to inquiries regarding order status, shipments, and delivery timelines.
• Help prevent shipping, receiving, and inventory errors by verifying work for accuracy.
• Comfortable operating table saw
• Assist with special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
