About The Position

The position involves assembling and managing shipping containers, ensuring proper handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The role requires a strong focus on safety, customer service, and adherence to company procedures while working in a factory environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate level of data entry skills and strong understanding of customer relations.
  • Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Vehicle Certification.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.

  • Basic level knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers and inserts items using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
  • Determines method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, and records shortages.
  • Gathers and delivers mail, routing items to departments.
  • Receives and logs items into the computer system.
  • Maintains a clean working area and tracks inventory accurately.
  • Controls costs through recycling and other activities.
  • Tracks and locates packages for customers.
  • May deliver packages on an emergency basis and prepare parts for the cleaning room.
  • May be required to train entry-level employees.
  • Participates in ATS Culture Initiative and continually improves processes.
