About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk at Kaiser Permanente is responsible for receiving, checking, verifying, storing, and labeling medical and general supplies, materials, furniture, and equipment for delivery. This role is essential in ensuring that supplies are accurately received and properly managed within the organization, contributing to the overall efficiency of the materials management department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical supplies, inventory stocking, par level systems.
  • Knowledge of barcode system, MMS system.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 60 lbs and move in excess of 300 lbs with handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of alpha numeric filing.
  • Must attach a current CQA driver record information sheet, obtained within the last month. During the two year period immediately preceding the date of application, must have a driving record which is free of incidents involving the applicant's negligence. Also free of citations with forfeit for bail for driving while under the influence of drugs or reckless driving. Driving record must not reflect more than two moving violations during the same two-year period.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, identifies, counts, and signs for deliveries of general and medical supplies, materials, pharmaceuticals, furniture, and equipment; refrigerates items as needed.
  • Verifies deliveries received against receiving slips and purchase orders.
  • Sorts, labels, and prepares items received for delivery to the proper department or for storage.
  • Maintains receiving, stores, and dispersing source and inventory documents; maintains files on return stock and action requests; follows up as necessary.
  • Notifies departments of delivery of supply problems.
  • Sets up, cleans, and operates audiovisual equipment.
  • Wraps, addresses, and insures packages for shipment and arranges for pick up; logs out in control book.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Contacts vendors, purchasing, accounts payable, and other departments to obtain or exchange information regarding incomplete orders, billings, and other items related to receiving and supply.
  • Performs other duties as required to include safeguarding storeroom supplies, reporting damaged material to Supervisor and suspend items while waiting for instructions; delivering emergency orders, operating duplicating equipment and maintain operating log for submission to Xerox; handles narcotics; receive and deliver radioactive material, and keep record of capital equipment over $100.
