The specific operations performed depend on the type of product. The role requires knowledge of various stock items to verify content, select the appropriate type and size of container, insert enclosures, use materials to prevent breakage or damage, close and seal containers, and apply labels or enter identifying data on containers. Additionally, the clerk performs a range of supply duties including receiving, material handling, warehousing, and issuing all types of repair parts and materials.

  • Prepare finished products for shipment or storage.
  • Verify content of stock items.
  • Select appropriate type and size of shipping container.

  • Use excelsior or other materials to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Close and seal containers.
  • Apply labels or enter identifying data on containers.
