About The Position

Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Shipping/ Receiving Clerk - 3rd Shift. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for the documentation, transportation, transfer, receipt, and shipment of products, documents, packages, and parts to our warehouses, customers, or internal suppliers. As required, they may provide transportation services to company personnel, including transfers between Eaton operations in Puerto Rico, the airport, and/or designated locations. They must comply with safety standards, traffic laws established by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the policies and procedures established by the company.

Requirements

  • Education: Fourth Year of High School.
  • Experience: Two (2) years in a similar or directly related position.
  • License: Valid Driver's License, Category 3 or preferably Category 8.
  • Knowledge and handling of systems (AS400, VISTA, License Plate & AES, Air and Sea).
  • Maintain communication with Carriers.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • Punctuality and responsibility in all areas concerning their work.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Be organized, have good judgment for decision-making related to their functions.
  • Maintain attention to detail in task execution in the system.
  • Work under little supervision.
  • Teamwork.
  • Be available to work overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Collect cargo to be shipped from the Production/Designated area.
  • Verify that the 'Shop Pack' documentation matches the units to be lifted.
  • Perform the releases, SA, and confirmations for each unit through the AS400/Vista systems.
  • Handle each release according to the corresponding shipping mode (Air or Sea).
  • Attach Packing Slip to each processed unit.
  • Move the cargo to be sent to the containers of each Carrier.
  • Responsible for storing and managing all shipping-related documentation.
  • Prepare a merchandise manifest to be sent by sea when required.
  • Responsible for generating various reports as needed.
  • Contact and coordinate shipments with Carrier as necessary.
  • Receive in the system, collect, and deliver the received merchandise to the designated areas.
  • Verify that the 'Packing Slip' documentation matches the received package.
  • Keep receipt documents properly organized and filed by date and sequence in compliance with document control requirements and document retention policy.
  • Perform the receipt process for each received unit through the AS400/Vista and PCS (Production Control Systems).
  • Generate receipts for Feeder's (if applicable) with the PCS process following Finance department instructions.
  • Identify merchandise that needs Inspection or has issues for system receipt.
  • Move and store cargo to designated areas to ensure sufficient storage space for incoming items.
  • Responsible for storing and managing all receipt-related documentation.
  • Responsible for generating various reports as needed.
  • Coordinate with Carriers and internal departments for deliveries as requested.
  • Follow instructions from the Supervisor, Manager, or assigned person.
  • Operate a motor vehicle regularly as part of job performance and/or occasionally operate suspended floor cranes.
  • Maintain records of discrepancies with POs that have issues for receiving.
