About The Position
Peraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Shipping Receiving Clerk I - On the Job Training (OJT) position . The Shipping and Receiving Clerk I OJT works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations. Our Shipping Receiving Clerk OJT performs a variety of non-complex assembly and disassembly tasks to perform functional tests for quality of product according to specifications.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Required skills will be obtained through a 90-day On the Job Training (OJT) program
- Upon successful completion, individual shall be deemed fully qualified as having met the labor category requirements for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift license
- Ability to use small hand tools and operate machines
- Ability to work with computers
- Ability to stand on feet for long durations
Nice To Haves
- Experience with banding, Insta-pack, pad pack, and similar equipment
- Experience with storage and handling of ESD sensitive items
Responsibilities
- Performs interchangeably as receiving clerk and shipping clerk
- Unpacks, identifies, and prepares necessary receiving documents required for work control of end items as established in work instructions
- Unloads and distributes piece parts and supplies to appropriate areas
- Follows instructions for packing, marking, and shipping as required to meet timely shipping performance
- Coordinates necessary shipping paperwork as required in the established work instructions
- May be required to operate a motor vehicle in the movement of goods
- Extensive interactions with internal and external customers
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
