About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments, verifying deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory records, and keeping warehouse operations safe and organized. This role requires the ability to safely drive the company truck for deliveries or pickups using a standard, valid driver’s license (no commercial license required).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to safely operate the company truck.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory/shipping software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, label, and stage outgoing shipments according to customer orders and carrier requirements.
  • Complete and verify shipping documentation and packing lists.
  • Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers for timely delivery.
  • Safely operate the company truck for deliveries or pickups as required.
  • Ensure outgoing shipments comply with safety, quality, and customer specifications.
  • Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Document and report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
  • Route materials to the appropriate department or storage location.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, cycle counts, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks, dock plates, and forklifts.
  • Follow all safety protocols and participate in training programs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding logistics issues.
  • Accurately record incoming and outgoing shipments in inventory systems.
  • Monitor stock levels and update records to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Support shipping and receiving of specialized alloy products, including stainless, high-nickel, and high-temperature alloys.
  • Coordinate with production teams for timely delivery of materials requiring precision processing such as copper plating, heat treating, annealing, and non-metallic coatings.
  • Ensure shipments adhere to strict aerospace and industrial standards as part of the STS Metals network.
