About The Position

Shipping/Receiving Associate Location: Menomonee Falls, WI Pay range: $20 to $23 per hour Hours: First (1st) Shift 7 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday OR Second (2 nd ) Shift : 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday-Thursday Are you an experienced forklift operator looking for a stable career? Position Overview: As a Shipping/Receiving Associate, you will play a critical role in our Manufacturing and Production group by managing the flow of materials in and out of our facility. Success in this role means ensuring accurate, timely shipments, maintaining proper documentation, and maximizing shipping efficiency while operating forklifts safely. You'll be the final checkpoint before our products reach customers! Requirements

  • 2+ years of forklift experience required
  • Experience in the transportation industry
  • Current or ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Ability to use basic computer software such as spreadsheets, databases, word processing applications, email, and Internet
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions about shipping methods
  • Understanding of shipping logistics and freight processes
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Drive forklift and maintain necessary certification
  • Ensure completion of all shipping documents including: bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, export documents, and processing of shipments through ERP system
  • Determine the most economical modes of transportation such as LTL, volume LTL, truckload, partial truckload
  • Maximize shipping efficiency through consolidation of shipments
  • Verify packing slips against received materials and accurately record receipts in the ERP system
  • Maintain accurate and updated database of shipping weights
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipments by working with manufacturing when shortages or discrepancies are discovered
  • Work with Customer Service department to resolve late orders, shortages, expedited requests, claims for freight damage, and freight estimates
  • Resolve shipping delays due to customer requests
  • Perform daily forklift safety inspections using a standardized checklist to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition before use
