About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring that incoming parts and materials are properly managed to meet manufacturing needs. This position involves interacting with transportation providers, performing data entry, and counting raw materials delivered to the warehouse. The assistant will work closely with the Logistics team to support warehouse operations and customer needs in Burgaw, NC.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 2+ years related experience in manufacturing, distribution, production planning, and/or trucking environment required.
  • Prior experience using Google Suite preferred.
  • Ability to read and write in English and utilize a computer for data entry, typing, and proofreading.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform inventory receiving for incoming parts and materials necessary for manufacturing products.
  • Physically count the raw materials and control tickets required.
  • Notify and/or deliver incoming materials to the appropriate person or department.
  • Complete daily receiving entries.
  • Provide documents to Accounting, Purchasing, and other functional areas when required.
  • Interact frequently with transportation providers, including brokers, agents, dispatchers, and drivers.
  • Occasionally operate business machines.
  • Obtain licensing and safely operate forklift and other powered industrial equipment for transporting materials in accordance with plant safety policies.
  • Ensure conformance to plant standards of safety, quality, production, and efficiency.
  • Clean and maintain the work area in accordance with plant standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
