About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Assistant is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments, investigates and resolves problems arising from purchasing or inventory issues. Compiles information and records purchase orders, loaner equipment, and/or fixed asset items.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Diploma and currently enrolled in a certification or degree program is required.
  • A minimum of 1-year administrative experience is required for this position.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing and shipping outbound and inbound orders/packages except for US Mail.
  • Prepares and verifies shipment information by counting, weighing, and/or measuring items of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Validate information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Maintain the company shipping and stockroom areas in an organized, clean manor,
  • Maintain the stockroom by cataloging items and submitting inventory list on a regular basis
  • Updates appropriate internal programs/systems with shipment details/tracking information
  • Collects, reviews, and monitors all departmental records and files for completeness such as Shipping Request forms. Scans records and updates database.
  • Compiles a record of items purchased or transferred between departments.
  • Maintains and updates the RMA and Loaners database.
  • Maintains and updates the internal shipping & receiving log
  • Delivers items received to other departments, including RCM.
  • Ensures that personal items received for employees are tracked and notifies employees for pickup.
  • Makes deliveries and performs other duties as assigned for annual SNUG conference.
  • Assists the Facilities department with assembling office equipment, pickup and drop off of cars, moving furniture and items for other departments, and other tasks, as assigned.
  • Complies with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
