About The Position

The Shipping Prep Tech position at Enerflex involves performing various routine warehouse, shop, and yard duties under the supervision of the Shipping Lead. The role focuses on preparing materials for shipment, maintaining inventory, and ensuring safe loading and unloading of goods. The position requires both indoor and outdoor work, with responsibilities including the application of preservation methods, operating forklifts, and adhering to safety practices.

Requirements

  • Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of drawings and diagrams.
  • Aptitude necessary to do shipping prep with multiple pieces following standard practices in all weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of light carpentry, banding machines, and small hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks, and pallet jacks within a warehouse environment.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to receive and maintain forklift and manlift certification.
  • Good customer service skills and a professional can-do attitude.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain daily equipment inspections.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with packing techniques for international shipping.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work outdoors and indoors covering flanges, taping and wrapping instruments and applying preservation methods for shipping preparation.
  • Manually lift and load materials into crates on pallets and off/on trucks safely.
  • Compare identifying information, and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against records.
  • Transfer materials and items from receiving or production areas to shipping or other designated areas.
  • Drive company vehicle and operate forklift to transport items as needed.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined areas.
  • Mark material with identifying information.
  • Prepare project skids, engines/motors, and ship loose materials accordingly.
  • Initiate restock of ship prep supplies as necessary.
  • Work with Shipping Specialist and current shipping documents/programs to complete shipment materials.
  • Assemble wooden or cardboard crates/cartons or select pre-assembled crates.
  • Prepare product for domestic and international shipping using proper packing techniques.
  • Determine best method of ship prep with components and materials for packing/shipping.
  • Participate in safety processes and maintain the 5-S methods.
