About The Position

The Shipping Operator role at Mars is a full-time position responsible for the efficient production and quality assurance of products within the shipping department. This position requires operating and changing over specified machinery, ensuring operational conformance, product quality, and continuous improvement. The Shipping Operator will also train and assist other associates as needed, emphasizing strong communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
• Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
• Forklift certified
• Must have valid drivers license
• Knowledge of inventory computer systems
• WMS Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
• Perform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storage
• Provide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
• Assist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directed
• Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures
• Provide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety
• Loading trucks, live loads and staged loads
• Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product, food safety hold product and released product
• Support Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with shipping department
