About The Position
The Shipping Manager at Carry-On Trailer Inc. plays a vital role in the manufacturing and transportation team, ensuring that all shipping operations align with the company's goals and policies. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day shipping activities, supporting both internal and external customers, and maintaining efficient office systems in collaboration with the transportation and logistics leadership team. The Shipping Manager will oversee the entire shipping process, ensuring that all orders are loaded and shipped in a timely manner, which is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. In this role, the Shipping Manager will plan and implement the overall shipping strategy, confirming that all orders are loaded and shipped on time. They will utilize shipping software to organize and prioritize shipping activities, ensuring that trailers are loaded according to company policy. The manager will also maintain shipping KPIs and goals, ensuring that the correct number of loads and trailers are shipped daily. Additionally, they will suggest solutions for process optimization to enhance safety and maximize loading efficiency. The Shipping Manager will supervise the shipping team and loading crews, building and managing shift schedules and labor requirements. They will also be responsible for controlling shipping and distribution costs, building professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying shipping issues to implement corrective solutions promptly. Furthermore, the manager will oversee shipping activities, maintain shipment records, resolve damages and discrepancies, and create reports for upper management to keep them informed of shipping operations.
