About The Position

We’re seeking a strategic, results-oriented Shipping Manager to lead outbound logistics at our Joliet fulfillment center. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of the shipping lifecycle—from order processing to carrier coordination—while driving operational excellence, team development, and cross-functional alignment. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building scalable, efficient systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and WMS systems
  • Experience with barcode scanning, ERP platforms, and shipping software (e.g., ShipStation, FedEx Manager)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive operational improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work flexible hours during peak seasons
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end outbound shipping process, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of all customer orders.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of supervisors and associates. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze KPIs, identify trends, and implement data-driven strategies to improve throughput, reduce errors, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, integrate new technologies, and improve shipping accuracy and speed.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory tracking, and usage of shipping supplies. Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to ensure readiness and efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with third-party carriers and logistics partners. Resolve issues, ensure service-level compliance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Inventory, Receiving, Customer Service, and IT to align shipping operations with broader business goals.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA standards, company policies, and safety protocols. Promote a clean, secure, and organized work environment.
  • Serve as a key holder and participate in facility-wide leadership duties including opening/closing responsibilities and emergency response coordination.
