About the position
Do you love problem solving and optimization around Packaging and Shipping? We’re looking for a Shipping Manager to formulate solutions to a variety of business issues that will ultimately improve the movement of our products across multiple carriers and elevate the customer experience. You’ll place an emphasis on the continuous development of relationships with the Client, Customers, and Employees. This position requires a strong leader with a strong business acumen that encompasses culture, financial aptitude, people leadership, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Touting a culture of logistics safety, training constantly, turning audits from confrontational to collaborative, and promoting personal accountability.
- Tracking all performance related statistics for logistics and inventory.
- Recruiting, training, developing, and managing employees to ensure flawless execution of daily tasks.
- Coordinating with operations to establish processes for delivering continuity of material flow.
- Analyzing all logistics cost including internal storage and freight cost to establish expense and performance improvement goals.
- Providing clear strategic direction by standardizing internal processes and driving improvement.
- Building strong customer relationships and understanding trends that affect our business to develop solutions creatively and strategically.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite and Transportation Management System (TMS) solutions.
- A strong customer-focus with the ability to support operations and gain their cooperation and respect.
- 5 years of experience in operations management in manufacturing.
