About The Position

Under the direction of the department Manager, the Leadman, Shipping will lead and direct the day-to-day work priorities to a team of forklift spotters and operators. He/she is accountable for their teams' performance, specifically the accurate loading of equipment and ensuring the correct documentation on paperwork. In this role, the individual will ensure the correct equipment is loaded on to carrier trucks in a safe and timely manner while documenting the process for accountability. This position will require the individual to work with the Shipping Supervisor and Shipping Coordinators to ensure scheduling is forecasted for loading days. The Leadman will monitor all work to ensure workers are performing activities according to project requirements, safely, and to the highest quality. The ability to multitask, communicate effectively, high attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset are a must. Individual must be a self-starter and is expected to execute tasks and goals in an effective and efficient manner, maximizing flow and throughput. Expected to lead in a manner that is consistent with and exhibits the company Vision, Values, and adherence to policies and procedures. A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 2-year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in natural gas manufacturing facilities.
  • Must be able to read and write in English, bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Must be able to read and interpret all engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to read a standard tape measure.
  • Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and email.
  • Proficient in SAP, specifically Inventory Management or Warehouse Management.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate instructions to others.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Shipping Supervisor, Shipping Coordinators to ensure that all required equipment is loaded per project requirements.
  • Understand unit breakdowns to ensure ship loose/ fall-off equipment is all accounted for, documented and loaded on to the correct trucks.
  • Maintaining and leading the 6S program in your area, ensuring fall off yard is kept organized by project number.
  • Ensuring forklift operators and spotters have necessary training and certification to safely complete their tasks.
  • Upload Bills of Lading and pictures per load into internally drive daily.
  • Mentoring and training forklift spotters and forklift operators.
  • Leading daily safety meetings with shipping team.
  • Promoting safety and safe work practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
