The Shipping Loader works under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor and is
responsible for staging, verifying, and loading materials for outbound
shipments. This role supports accurate material tracking through shipping
documentation, scanners, and system transactions while safely handling and
moving product. The position also operates material-handling equipment and
maintains a clean, organized work area in support of safety and 5S initiatives.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a forklift operating role.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support cross-functional collaboration.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing more than 45 lbs. using team lifting procedures.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift).
• Ability to safely move and operate material handling equipment throughout the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and/or ladders as required for job tasks.
• Ability to use hands, wrists, and fingers for handling materials, writing, and computer work.
• Frequent use of computers, keyboards, tablets, scanners, or handheld devices.
• Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced industrial environment.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Load outbound trailers safely and efficiently under the direction of the Lead Loader.
• Verify materials against shipping documentation prior to loading.
• Stage product in the designated shipping area to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
• Ensure all products are correctly identified and handled to prevent damage during loading and transport.
• Safely handle and move steel sections and other materials weighing up to 50 lbs. and over 50lbs. team lift or support the use material handling equipment.
• Read and interpret shipping paperwork, pick lists, and load documentation.
• Utilize handheld scanners to track and confirm shipment accuracy.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and report discrepancies to leadership.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing shipping and material handling tasks.
• Promote safe work practices including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.
• Ensure product quality by verifying materials prior to shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area including loading docks and trailers.
• Support the company’s 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in keeping the shipping area organized to promote efficiency and safety.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments to support shipping operations.
• Assist with additional warehouse or shipping tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
