About The Position

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, the Lead Person is responsible for coordinating the activities of the department to ensure efficient operations and maximize production of each employee. The Shipping Lead will support customer service and delivery activities by coordinating and directing team members. This person will focus on order fulfillment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping or warehouse operations, with leadership responsibilities preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively across departments

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support direct employees by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
  • Communicate daily objectives and instructions from management to direct employees
  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks, assignments, and workflow to meet production and shipping schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders
  • Ensure proper documentation of shipments
  • Ensure that new employees are safely and correctly assimilated into their position
  • Communicate with management and interface with leads in other areas of the shop.
  • Must have mastered the skills needed to fully function with little or no supervision
  • Must set and maintain safety, quality, production and housekeeping standards as determined by Management
  • Produce any reports, orders or other paper work as required by management
  • Fills in for supervisor when needed
