We are looking to add a Shipping Lead located at 10010 Aurora Hudson Rd, Streetsboro OH Monday-Friday 2p-10p Summary: This is a working lead position and entails supervision and coordination of activities engaged in by employees in the warehouse. Individuals will be required to fulfill the following duties and requirements, alongside employees while fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a shipping/receiving or logistics role, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software; spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Possess strong leadership and customer service skills.
  • Ability to train others, model Step2 values and work hand in hand with the team.

  • Ability to work seasonal overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • WMS and ERP (Oracle Preferred) experience
  • LEAN training/certification helpful

Responsibilities

  • Safety Compliance: Model safety behaviors and ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and standards. Identify safety risks and mitigate.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of shipping personnel to achieve daily goals and normal assignments. Monitor performance to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations.
  • Shipping/Receiving: Lead and perform all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Analyze traffic schedules to estimate worker hours and create schedules as needed. Provide an excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Inventory control and accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee stock levels. Ability to request items for transfer and handle outbound transfers as well.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and lower cost.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, other departments, and external partners via email, written, and verbal communications.
