About The Position

The Shipping Lead oversees daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation and distribution of customer orders. This role is responsible for coordinating shipping staff, maintaining compliance with company policies and carrier requirements, and ensuring orders are packed and shipped according to customer and quality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus).
• 2+ years of warehouse, shipping, or logistics experience.
• Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of shipping methods, carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL), and documentation.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in shipping/ERP software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assign and monitor workloads to ensure on-time shipments.
• Verify accuracy of picked and packed orders prior to shipment.
• Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Maintain shipping records, bills of lading, and tracking documentation.
• Monitor and manage inventory of shipping supplies (boxes, pallets, tape, labels, etc.).
• Communicate with customer service, production, and warehouse teams to resolve issues.
• Train, coach, and support team members in shipping processes and safety procedures.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
