About The Position

The Shipping Lead at Hood Container Corporation is responsible for overseeing the shipping operations on the 2nd shift, ensuring that all freight is prepared and dispatched accurately and efficiently. This role involves leading a team, managing shipping documentation, and maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience leading a successful team in a shipping, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of the Amtech system and experience billing outbound freight.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficient in using PCs.
• Familiar with all equipment required to complete shipping functions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in troubleshooting shipping issues.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to successfully load finished products to the correct destinations.
• Ensure the team meets ship date expectations and communicate any delays, damages, or shortages to Customer Service and Management.
• Complete all documentation accurately.
• Handle all required administrative paperwork and data entry.
• Lead the team in maintaining clean and safe work areas.
• Assign routes for local deliveries, transfers, and pickups.
• Confirm all personnel are on time and ready to contribute.
• Ensure all personnel have the proper equipment to complete tasks safely.
• Schedule load personnel to prepare shipments, stage freight to assigned areas, and meet ship dates.
• Communicate any delays, damage, or shortages to the appropriate personnel.
• Lead and complete unitized inventory, cycle counts, and reports—confirm results with the Shipping Manager.
• Perform various other job duties and projects as assigned.
