Responsibilities Summary Under general supervision and established procedures, the Shipping & Receiving Specialist performs a variety of shipping, receiving, packaging, inventory control, and material handling duties of small parts in support of manufacturing operations. This position operates in a fast-paced production environment and requires strong organizational and computer skills to process inventory transactions, coordinate shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system. This is not a traditional warehouse shipping position. The role requires frequent use of computer systems and other communication tools and shipping platforms to manage inventory transactions, prepare domestic and international shipments, and communicate with internal departments and external carriers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable level Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) with ability to maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company insurance requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 CFR 120.15 due to access to export-controlled information (ITAR, EAR, NRC).
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to learn and utilize ERP or manufacturing systems for inventory and shipping transactions.
  • Experience using shipping software systems such as FedEx or similar carrier platforms preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, shipping/receiving, or inventory control.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management processes.
  • Forklift operation or other material handling equipment experience.
  • Familiarity with export documentation and international shipping procedures.
  • Maintain control and organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Shipping, logistics, inventory control, or manufacturing support experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Material Handling & Production Support · Packaging of manufactured products following established standards to ensure consistency to internal and eternal customers.
  • Picks and kits raw materials and components for production jobs based on work orders and routing instructions.
  • Performs inventory transactions within the ERP system to issue materials to production and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Verifies part numbers, quantities, and job requirements to ensure materials are properly staged for manufacturing.
  • Distributes materials to appropriate departments according to production schedules and routing instructions.
  • Shipping & Receiving · Receives purchased materials and verifies accuracy against purchase orders and shipping documentation and distribution to end users.
  • Packages finished goods and materials according to established procedures to ensure safe and compliant shipment.
  • Coordinates shipping activities with production planning, customer service, and external carriers.
  • Processes domestic and international shipments using shipping systems such as FedEx and other carrier platforms.
  • Prepares and maintains required shipping documentation, including export documentation when applicable.
  • Inventory Control · Maintains accurate inventory records through system transactions, cycle counting, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Monitors inventory quantities, locations, and identification (labeling) of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Performs cycle counts and physical inventory counts to support inventory accuracy and internal controls.
  • Provides finished goods counts and shipment status updates for production or operations meetings.
  • Compliance & Documentation · Ensures compliance with ISO procedures, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Coordinates international shipments and ensures adherence to Export Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for creating, transmitting, storing, and protecting Controlled Unclassified Information/Technology in accordance with government regulations and company procedures.
  • Must adhere to the Morgan Technology Transfer Control Plan and all applicable government regulations related to export-controlled technology.
  • Other Duties · Supports general material handling activities within the facility.
  • Participates in monthly and quarterly assigned safety and compliance training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls and operational procedures
  • Coordinate with operations, quality, and sales teams to resolve discrepancies or issues
  • Update and maintain sales reports , ensuring data accuracy and timeliness
