About The Position

Aluminum Precision Products (APP) is an international leader in manufacturing aluminum forgings, offering an opportunity to be part of a globally recognized organization known for quality. The Shipping Inspector is responsible for preparing parts for safe transit via common carrier. This includes stamping, sorting, wrapping, and packaging parts to ensure accurate outgoing shipments while maintaining supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Wear proper Personal Protection Equipment in work area at all time.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person.
  • English (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension).
  • Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in the loading and unloading of the truck.
  • Ability to perform Quality Assurance checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Shipping, FedEx/UPS, USPS.

Responsibilities

  • Work safe and maintain an organized, lean work environment.
  • Strong commitment to good attendance and being on time as it is critical to meet production needs.
  • Package and prepare parts (stamping, sorting, wrapping, and packaging) for shipment.
  • Verify that orders are proper in terms of quantity and style of product, to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively in the loading and unloading of the truck.
  • Perform Quality Assurance checks.
  • Determine sufficient packaging methods and shipping charges.
  • Print and affix labels.
  • Prepare bills of lading for transit.
  • Confirm compliance for shipping specifications.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping for all outgoing/incoming packages and inventory.
  • Guarantee proper storage and security of all products and materials.
  • Assure quality and production requirements are met, as per the job-specific travelers.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the department manager.
