About The Position

The Shipping Inspector at Herff Jones is responsible for ensuring the quality of graduation and educational products before they are shipped. This role involves inspecting various styles of gowns and accessories, performing clerical tasks, and processing orders to meet efficiency standards. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to lift and move boxes as part of the shipping preparation process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to comprehend and process information effectively.
• Strong attention to detail to notice when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
• Ability to concentrate and remain focused while performing tasks.
• Skill in combining several pieces of information to draw conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect various styles of gowns and accessories for quality assurance before shipping.
• Pull order envelopes and check items for style, color, fabric, and quantity.
• Check robes for size and proper labeling, and clean any soiled spots as needed.
• Isolate defective gowns or accessories and route them to the appropriate supervisor for repair.
• Pull and process orders while meeting efficiency standards.
• Lift and move boxes (up to 50 lbs) from the factory to the warehouse and other areas of the factory.
• Restock Quick-Ship and sales stock inventories as needed.
• Prepare products for shipping, ensuring that ship dates are met.
