About The Position

The position involves various responsibilities centered around the preparation and management of outgoing shipments in a warehouse environment. The primary duties include picking and packing products according to order specifications, ensuring accuracy in selection and packing. The role also requires loading and unloading trucks, utilizing manual labor or equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Additionally, employees will be responsible for labeling and sorting packages, inspecting shipments for accuracy and damage, and assisting with inventory management. Maintaining a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols is crucial. Documentation related to shipments must be completed accurately, and collaboration with team members and supervisors is essential to meet shipping goals and deadlines.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods; lift heavy objects (often 50+ pounds).
• Ability to follow written instructions and complete simple math calculations related to shipping.
• Ensure accuracy in packing, labeling, and inspecting shipments.
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in shipping/receiving or general warehouse work preferred but not always required.
• Experience working in a freezer/refrigerator environment.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack products for outgoing shipments according to order specifications.
• Safely load and unload trucks using manual labor or equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Label boxes and items appropriately, sort packages by destination or type, and prepare shipping labels for proper delivery.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies; report any issues to supervisors.
• Assist with inventory counts and organization of products in the warehouse.
• Operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts, hand trucks, etc.) to move items efficiently and safely.
• Keep the shipping and receiving area clean and organized; follow safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free workspace.
• Complete paperwork and records related to shipments, including tracking orders and ensuring proper documentation is filed.
• Work closely with other team members, supervisors, and departments to meet shipping goals and deadlines.
