This position is a general labor role within the distribution shipping and freezer openings at Tyson Foods, Inc. The starting pay for this position is $20.15 per hour. Applicants will be considered for various tasks that may include running machinery, packing products, sanitizing work areas, receiving or shipping products, making boxes, and maintaining good housekeeping practices. The role requires physical stamina as employees must be willing to repeatedly push, pull, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Additionally, candidates must be able to grip with their hands and complete the necessary paperwork associated with their assigned tasks. The working environment can be challenging, as employees will be routinely exposed to cold temperatures ranging from -20 to 40°F for up to 10 hours a day. The floors in some areas may be slippery, and the work is conducted on concrete surfaces. Employees may also encounter a noise level that is loud enough to necessitate hearing protection. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires availability for overtime and weekends when necessary, and candidates must be willing to accommodate changes in shift start times. Furthermore, employees will work in an environment where they may see and smell meat products, including blood, fat, bone, skin, and spices, during processing. Candidates must also be willing to obtain a license to operate a TAG and/or forklift.
