About The Position

Anchor Fabrication has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Forklift Operator in our Shipping department. Position Summary: The Forklift Operator’s role is to move products, materials or equipment, meeting or exceeding customer specs and productivity requirements. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Internal Relationships: All Departments External Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customers Traits Displayed: Ability to exude high energy, solution-based thinking, while focusing great attention to detail and maintaining a service-oriented disposition. Requirements

  • 1+ years of Forklift experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic computer knowledge and understanding.
  • Clean driving record with no property damage accidents within the past three years
  • Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have previous experience with Sheet Metal
  • Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift certification program

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operations and safety checks, including battery, seat belt, brakes, life control and fire extinguisher.
  • Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials.
  • Check identification of materials to be moved. Cross-references with production schedule or shipping schedule to ensure accuracy.
  • Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull load and move materials to correct work area.
  • Report’s inconsistencies or problems to supervisors
  • Other duties assigned
