Great Affordable Benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Holidays and Vacation, Matching 401K BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: • Unload/load customer product, inspect product, and place it correctly in storage yard. • Shipping operator is responsible for the proper care and operation of yard heavy equipment. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. • The Shipping Fork Lift Operator reports to the Shipping Supervisor at the manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Preferred candidates will have at least 1-year work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably in an outdoor setting.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Proficient with reading, writing, and basic math skills relating to the job, function or assignment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to work safely in a production environment, must be physically capable of performing job related tasks and job duties
  • Preferred experience operating front-end loaders, forklift trucks, or other related material- handling equipment. Ability to become forklift certified per company policy
  • Good organizational skills- must determine priorities, manage time properly, and multi-task
  • Work closely with quality assurance, production personnel and production and shipping supervisors
  • Flexible hours and weekend work will be required
  • Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the SHE Principles
  • Must be a US citizen or a non-US citizen having legal status to reside and work in the US for reasons other than practical training
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Walk, sit, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, balance, crouch or crawl, talk and hear
  • Use hand to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or ladders
  • Ability to wear PPE, including, but not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses and steel toe footwear that meets ASTM F-2413-2005 standards while in required locations
  • Ability to stand and walk 8-12 hours per day
  • The employee will be required to: read, communicate verbally and in written form, remember and analyze certain information, and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines
  • Specific vision abilities required by job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and distinguish color
  • Employee must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather; during their shifts, excluding breaks

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is maintained according company standards and manufacturer recommendations
  • Assist with the maintenance of company equipment by performing daily inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Operate company equipment in a safe manner following company guidelines (i.e. speed limits, boom extension, etc)
  • Participate in safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the shipping area are maintained at all times
  • Coordinate activities with other departments
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance department to ensure effective participation in the Quality Policy and ISO 9001 procedural requirements
  • Communicate directly with maintenance department to facilitate maintenance and repair of equipment in the receiving and shipping areas
  • Inventory and load product specified by shipping orders; label, sort, and band product as required per company loading guidelines
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Shipping Supervisor
  • Ability to move product from staging area and into storage yard in a safe, organized manner
  • Ensure trucks are loaded according to shipping manifest and company guidelines; inventory shipments received according to material invoice or packing list
  • Provide service to both inbound and outbound customers as required
