Position Summary The Shipping Floater provides support under the guidance of a Team Leader and Supervisor. This role will include gaining a working knowledge of all processes within the department. Organizational Relationship This position reports directly to Shift Supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is minimally required
  • Ability to work as part of a team with adherence to established safety, productivity, and quality standard Is required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours.
  • Able to stand on feet for 8-10 hours a day
  • Frequent exposure to wood dusts and cabinet-making materials
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and function in a team-oriented, fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Strong communication skills - listening, verbal, written and presentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Forklift experience is required, preferably on a Reach Truck and Stand Up Forklift
  • Provide leadership support to Receiving Lead and Shipping / Receiving Supervisor
  • Ensure all needed equipment is ready and available for team at the start of the shift
  • Ensure all equipment is accounted for and put away at the end of the shift
  • Audit team members for PPE
  • Help coordinate and support receiving plan for scheduled inbound throughout the day
  • Validate proper restocking of pick locations
  • Support daily rotations within the department and cover during team member breaks
  • Ensure all team members are following SOS protocol
  • Train and mentor new team members
  • Conduct weekly and monthly department audits
  • Perform daily lift inspections
  • Oversee and assist with end of shift clean-up process
  • Must be flexible and adaptable in ability to help the team when necessary
  • Able to speak and understand both written and spoken English
  • All other duties as may be assigned at management's discretion
