About The Position

Flint Group is actively seeking individuals with strong work ethic and positive attitudes to join our team. As a Shipping Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in our safety-first environment, executing various tasks to ensure the safe and on-time delivery of inks. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will be involved in coordinating the day to day operations of a busy Shipping & Receiving department. This includes receiving raw materials, preparing quotes and invoices, overseeing shipping, responding to complaints or questions from clerks and customers, and providing shipping instructions and information..

Requirements

  • Positive safety mindset to prioritize safety over all other work requirements.
  • Prior warehouse shipping, receiving and routing experience
  • Awareness of upcoming scheduled shipments on customers portals
  • Proactively communicates issues, shortages, or problems to Logistics Manager, and/or Customer Services Representatives
  • Participates in ensuring thorough housekeeping and organization of work areas
  • Strong leadership, team and people management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Time management skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in Logistics
  • Knowledge of packaging regulations and vendor ship guidelines
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • Basic math/mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work load effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Experience (Preferred)
  • Basic Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint) aptitude.
  • SAP Business processing system experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Tracking information between carriers/ links for reports
  • Follow procedure outlined in government contracts, purchase orders to prepare government invoices
  • Processing, Sorting and grouping shipment transit times
  • Posts weights and shipping charges
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Problem solving on any shipment errors
  • Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers
  • May assume receiving responsibilities as needed
  • Assists the Accounting Department with day-to-day admin functions when and where necessary
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Prepares labels, waybills, export declarations, certifications, special attachments, government forms, BOL, and special mailing certificates
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Follow terms outlined in letters of credit.
