About The Position

Position Summary Responsible for the smooth, timely, and accurate movement of finished goods.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in transportation/logistics.
  • Proficient with D365 and Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Must be familiar with international and domestic shipping, including familiarity with general documents and procedures, custom procedures, general import, and export procedures.
  • Basic math skills necessary
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working in a shipper/receiver and/or material handler capacity
  • Good oral communication skills to exchange information with suppliers, co-workers and management
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of material handling and packaging skills
  • Skilled in operating electric sit down fork trucks, stand-up, hand or reach trucks and pallet jacks in a warehouse environment to move stock and reorganize storage
  • Ability to operate vehicle equipment in tight and/or congested areas
  • Ability to make adjustments for frequent interruptions and changing priorities caused by rush orders, production or shipping delays
  • Aware of proper storage, product placement, and in-house stock
  • Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision and as a team member
  • Focus on customer service and quality customer focused and ensure that all orders and inquiries are responded to with professionalism.
  • Accurately performs multiple operational tasks assigned within the facility
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Frequent bending, stooping, moving within the plant to load and unload orders
  • Lifting, carrying, moving, and reaching to maneuver a minimum of 50 lbs of materials, product, boxes, cartons, packages in the facility
  • Move within facility to inside office locations and/or warehouse areas, to loading dock areas, including outdoors throughout all seasons
  • Eye hand coordination
  • Hand and finger dexterity

Responsibilities

  • Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules. Coordinate with other associates as needed.
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments, including customer returns, material, equipment, and supplies.
  • Determines space requirements for product storage and material identification.
  • Coordinates with freight carriers and ensures accurate completion of shipping documents.
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and compliance with customer instructions regarding packing, shipping, and labeling. This includes an audit of order for part and quantity accuracy and pallet count.
  • Prepares bills of lading, customs, and export documents for shipments.
  • Studies, standardizes, and automates procedures to improve efficiency of department.
  • Arranges for pickup of scrap metal and trash/waste of facility.
  • Creates computer generated reports relating to shipping and receiving manifests daily.
  • Ensures that all safety rules and regulations are complied with.
  • Always communicates with customers and employees in a professional manner.
  • Must meet weekly, daily and hourly deadlines for key tasks related to shipping product.
  • Receive incoming goods, confirm accuracy and route appropriately.
  • Obey all safety rules, use caution in work activities, and continuously practice safe behaviors.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions/behaviors and work-related injuries to site supervision.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
