About The Position

Join our growing precision sheet metal manufacturing team and play a key role in keeping production moving efficiently and effectively. Job Summary The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, and documenting outgoing shipments of precision sheet metal components and finished products. This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer orders are accurately fulfilled, securely packaged, and shipped on time. The Shipping Clerk works closely with production, inventory, and customer service teams to maintain shipping accuracy and compliance with AS9100 standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in shipping or warehouse operations
  • Valid state drivers license required
  • Ability to meet company driver eligibility requirements.
  • Familiarity with FedEx, UPS, or freight shipping software.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Basic computer and ERP system knowledge.
  • Requires standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Safety protocols, including the use of PPT, must be always followed.
  • You should be proficient in: Basic Computer Skills

  • Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Shipping Preparation Review work orders, packing slips, and shipping instructions for accuracy.
  • Pull, inspect, and verify parts for shipment based on customer orders and internal requests.
  • Ensure correct part numbers, quantities, and labeling prior to packaging.
  • Transportation finished goods and materials to customers, suppliers, and between facilities as needed.
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing materials to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify delivery instructions, obtain required signatures, and complete delivery documentation.
  • Package products securely using appropriate materials (boxes, crates, pallets) to prevent damage during transit.
  • Prepare proper packaging for sensitive or high-precision components in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Label packages clearly and accurately with shipping details, part numbers, and customer information.
  • Generate shipping documentation such as packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
  • Input shipment details and tracking information into the ERP system.
  • Maintain shipping records and logs for traceability and AS9100 compliance.
  • Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers (UPS, FedEx, freight, etc.).
  • Ensure shipping deadlines are met and communicate any delays to internal teams.
  • Report material movements and update inventory quantities during shipment preparation.
  • Assist with cycle counts or physical inventories as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or damaged materials immediately.
