About The Position

This position will be responsible for preparing and organizing the paperwork and tracking information for all outgoing shipments from the Distribution Center. This person will be organizing orders, reviewing outgoing shipment schedules, and assist with all shipping processes. Additionally, they will review shipments for consolidation & cost saving opportunities. Accuracy of all documentation including BOLs, PRO/Tracking, etc is part of the daily responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Experience with a TMS (Transportation Mgmt.) System
  • Domestic LTL/FTL & Volume shipment experience
  • Familiarity with the main LTL carriers
  • Ability to utilize LTL Pro/tracking system.
  • MS Outlook experience
  • Minimal MS Excel experience to work reports
  • Comfortable working on and navigating various computer programs.
  • Good verbal & written communication

Responsibilities

  • Input Orders into TMS system to determine best shipment method.
  • Coordinate with Lead and Logistics team if different carrier is needed vs TMS recommendation.
  • Answer questions and respond to inquiries from CS & Logistics team regarding daily priorities, customer information, shipment tracking, etc.
  • Create & Print BOLs. Ensure properly filled out and proper copies go to drivers as well as the correct ones retained and turned into the Logistics office.
  • Coordinate with Shipping Lead for proper staging of product for all non-drop trailer shipments, ie volume, full truckload, customer paid, customer pick-up, etc.
  • Review customer shipments for opportunities to reduce shipping costs and consolidate shipments.
  • Review Aged shipment reports daily with Lead to ensure nothing is missed or no system issues. Work through all issues with Shipping team, Logistics & CS as needed to resolve.
  • Verifies completeness and correctness of BOLs
  • Verifies accuracy of paperwork prior to turning into Logistic office
  • Verifies accurate PRO/tracking labels applied to all shipments.
  • Verifies proper placement of all outgoing pallets/order based on type (Full truckload, volume, customer paid, etc.
  • An active participant in the morning meeting with shipping team, to advise any issue with outgoing orders.
  • Assist the Shipping Lead maintain safe, clean and orderly shipping dock.
