About The Position

The Shipping and Receiving position at Fastenal Company involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment to facilitate the movement of products throughout the distribution center. This entry-level role requires individuals to organize outgoing orders, load products into trucks, and maintain a clean and safe workspace. The position offers a flexible schedule after an initial onboarding and training period.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or over
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen

Responsibilities

• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Inspecting product for damage and documenting discrepancies
• Sorting product into correct locations
• Stacking product efficiently
• Consolidating, loading and unloading shipments
• Utilizing load truck reports to locate product for outgoing shipments
• Ensuring proper load securement for transport
• Verifying product is correctly labeled for easy identification and delivery
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings
