As the Shipping Receiving Supervisor, you will have a combination of duties which include but are not limited to managing a team, coordinating shipments, maintaining inventory, and resolving any issues related to shipping and receiving. The supervisor also ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Requirements

  • High school diploma, technical school certification or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a shipping and receiving role, with a minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology (e.g., shipping software, inventory management systems, excel)
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to perform all work in accordance with established company procedures

Responsibilities

  • Directing and overseeing the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department
  • Managing a team of shipping and receiving personnel, including scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring
  • Providing training, support, and guidance to team members
  • Fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Preparing outgoing orders for shipment and arranging transportation
  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing of both incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Coordinating with carriers and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records of all goods received and shipped
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of materials
  • Conducting regular inventory audits and reconciliation
  • Verifying the accuracy of shipments, including quantity, condition, and documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Investigating and resolving any discrepancies or non-conformities
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
  • Developing and implementing streamlined processes to optimize workflow and minimize errors
  • Generating reports and tracking key performance metrics
  • Operating material handling equipment (forklifts, etc.) as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds on a regular basis
  • Willing to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
