The Shipping and Receiving Specialist at SDC is responsible for managing all outgoing and incoming shipments, including custom machine shipments from SDC to customers, materials, supplies, and machines parts. This position will also assist with pick-up and deliveries from supplier locations, as needed. Why Join SDC? Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or materials coordination in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with freight shipments, crating, Bills of Lading, and carrier or broker coordination.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine components and packaging needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency using material handling equipment; forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules or work overtime to meet shipment deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments, including custom machine shipments.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update shipping and receiving documentation, purchase orders, BOMs, and inventory records.
  • Receive, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling.
  • Coordinate freight, including crating requirements, carrier selection, scheduling, and pricing.
  • Lead and assist with wrapping, packaging, and preparing machines for shipment.
  • Prepare packing slips and Bills of Lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain shipping supplies and purchase materials as needed.
  • Assist with supplier pickups and local deliveries when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
