As a Shipping and Receiving Lead Person your goal is to oversee employees in the shipping and receiving department and oversees materials and products that are shipped out and received in. You will do this by: Maintain safe working conditions in area of influence, documenting and correcting acts or conditions. Participate in corrective actions, complete accident investigations, and assist supervisor/ manager in applying progressing discipline as warranted. Direct and coordinate efficient workflow and activities of team members throughout the departments, mentoring and coaching to output. Monitor labor, production output, efficiencies, mate3rial, and component usage using a variety of EPICOR tools. Produce reports to manage daily shipping needs. Make necessary corrections to EPICOR as needed. Monitor and enforce quality work to ensure accuracy of all shipments. Provide input to supervisor/ manager on performance of team members in respect to evaluations, hiring, discipline and abilities/ attitudes. Communicates daily across functional areas and escalate issues to necessary personnel. Work overtime as needed for shift coverage, special situations, weekends, and absences. Perform or direct training of new personnel, ensuring that proper training procedures are followed. Possess or acquire knowledge of basic skills for all areas of influence to ensure proper flow or shipments, quality and safety in the shipping department. Assist in driving continuous improvement and be pro-active in promoting culture change and efficiency. Must maintain acceptable attendance levels (<8 points at any given time). Perform other duties as assigned.
