The position involves overseeing the receiving and outbound shipping department, ensuring that all incoming packages, materials, products, and supplies are properly inspected, stored, and accounted for. The role requires ensuring that outgoing shipments are prepared and delivered on time, providing daily work assignments to staff, and hiring and training new and existing employees on the techniques and procedures used in completing work assignments. The position also includes operating pallet jacks, lift trucks, and other equipment to move parts to their proper locations and load and unload steel trucks as necessary. Responsibilities extend to verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages, and managing cargo tracking software. The individual will oversee the daily backlog of shipments within the company ERP system, perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs and metrics for the department, and report to the manager. Additionally, the role involves leading cycle counting, 5S for weekly and monthly requirements, approving timecards for shipping and receiving team members, and managing safe work practices while enforcing company EHSE and HR policies.
